Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris (born October 20th, 1964) was an American lawyer, politician and vice president of the United States. Harris is the first vice president to be female and highest-ranking female official of U.S. History, as well the first African American and second Asian American vice president. She is a member and former US senator who represents California. Harris was born in Oakland and attended Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and later the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in 2010, and was she was re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris beat Loretta Martinez in 2016's Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and first South Asian American senator to be elected to the United States Senate. She was a senator , and was a vocal advocate for reforms to healthcare and federal cannabis de-scheduling. She also advocated for the possibility of citizenship for immigrants without a legal status and the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons, and progressive tax reform. National attention was gained for her sharp questioning of Trump administration officials at Senate sessions. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual assault.
